Justin Tomlinson
Justin is a Director and Co-founder of Delivery Craft. He brings over 20 years of experience as a delivery professional and an executive leader and has worked in a number of industries and locations around the world.
His original trade is programme management and he worked with the company that wrote Prince 2. Justin later founded “Pragmatic”, a niche consultancy providing programme management methodology and delivery teams to large financial services organisations like Prudential, UBS and Credit Suisse.
As his interest in software and technology delivery evolved, Justin moved to Silicon Valley where he led consulting and web technology delivery functions working with Cisco, Oracle and Wells Fargo.
This experience exposed Justin to the early adopters of Extreme Programming and Agile Software Development. In 2003 Justin returned to the UK and became Director of Software and Projects for AOL where he built one of London’s first teams to adopt Continuous Delivery techniques.
Since then Justin has been a CTO, Board Director and Adviser to several companies where he has left a track record of global success as well as some major learning experiences. Some of his achievements are:
Leading Agile transformation at BskyB in the online space with multiple IAB and Webby awards for the team’s achievements in commerce and entertainment
Implementing one of the world’s first continuous delivery technology and product functions for BskyB. Revolutionising how set top box products are delivered to 10 million customers
Building a team to redevelop digital strategy and execution for J.K Rowling’s Pottermore with over 10m active users a month
Assisting several startups as a board member adviser, helping them to achieve funding and growth in California, London and New Zealand
Acting CTO for NZ Rugby advising on strategy and Sky NZ as a strategic digital adviser alongside board and transformation roles for Syrp, Buildmedia and Fisher Funds in NZ
Justin’s passion is for people and in creating amazing environments where they can do their best work. He is also a husband and proud father of three beautiful children.
